An Oklahoma man who’s had to be hospitalized for more than a month with a man-eaten snake after the creature ate his dog’s legs is now recovering at home, his veterinarian says.
The snake had reportedly been living in the home of John Fisk, 66, since September and was also living with his dog, a male golden retriever named Lucky.
The dog has since been taken to the vet for treatment.
Fisk told The Associated Press the creature was “a male that was eating his dog” when he called 911 about 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 11.
The Oklahoma City Police Department confirmed Friday that Fisk was taken to a local hospital.
The police department said Fisk suffered bites to his arms, legs and back.
He has since regained consciousness and is recovering at the hospital.
